Teen Programs

Here's a brief description of some of the library's teen programs.

The Kalona Public Library has a number of programs for teens. At the end of each month, the Teen Advisory Board (TAB) meets to help order books for the library, plan teen programs, organize fundraisers, decorate the teen area and more.

Anyone ages 12 to 18 is welcome to join TAB. Click here for more information.

During the winter, the Washington County libraries host an All Washington County Teen Read. This is essentially a big group discussion with teens from all over Washington County.

During the summer, a teen reading program with prizes, such as pizza coupons, a free book and more, is offered. There is also a grand prize drawing for those who read over the set amount.

Throughout the school year, the library offers a variety of programs, from Wii Nights to Teens Only Movie Nights. Please check the library's calendar for upcoming events.

This resource is supported by the Institute of Museum and Library Services under the provisions of the Library Services and Technology Act as administered by State Library of Iowa.
