Breastfeeding Support Group Mar 09, 2018 from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM Kalona Public Library,
This is a monthly support group for mothers and pregnant women. The group meets the 2nd Friday of the month from 11:30-12:30 in the Kalona Public Library. There will be a certified lactation counselor available to answer questions about breastfeeding. The group will allow time for sharing with other moms. Walk-ins are welcome. Any questions please call Washington County Public Health at 319-653-7758.

Early-Out Lego Time/Board Games (Sign-up Required) Mar 21, 2018 from 01:30 PM to 03:00 PM Kalona Public Library,
The library will have lego building after school! There will also be board games to play! Sign-up will is required to participate in library early-out programs. Parents and guardians can sign children up by calling the library at 656-3501, by emailing Roxy at kplyouth@kctc.net, or in person at the library. Sign-up will be required prior to each early-out.

The Last Tuesday Book Club is a book discussion group for adults. The club meets eight times over the course of a year--reading, reviewing, and discussing recent and classic works of fiction and non-fiction by authors from around the world. Book Club members choose the eight books for the coming year every spring. The Book Club takes the summer and December off. All book group meetings are held on on the last Tuesday of the month at 7:00 PM, or there is also a daytime meeting the following day at 12:30 PM. March Book--The Zookeeper's Wife By: Diane Ackerman

Free Art Workshop: Ages 55+ (Upcycled Bottles) Mar 14, 2018 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM Kalona Public Library,
Get Creative at the Library! This is a free art program for seniors (ages 55+) at the Kalona Public Library. The class is taught by Debbie Sanderfield Farrow with the L.E.T.'s Center for the Healing and Creative Arts. In this class you will learn how to decoupage a bottle. You may use a wine bottle or other bottle of your choice.These bottles make great vases for flowers, branches, and peacock feathers. They also stand alone as art objects. Materials will be provided, but bring in anything special you would like to use, such as papers, ribbons, photos, etc. You can also bring a full or empty bottle of your choice, but there will be some extra bottles available. Get Creative at the Library! This is a free art program for seniors (ages 55+) at the Kalona Public Library. The class is taught by Debbie Sanderfield Farrow with the L.E.T.'s Center for the Healing and Creative Arts. In this class you will learn how to start journaling. Journaling has always been a way to document life, but this class will take you on a journey of self-discovery through the use of dynamic tools to inspire your writing. Explore journaling prompts, quotes, and other resources to bring soul to your writing. This is a small, intimate group that welcomes others. The only rules are trust and honoring each other's thoughts as they are shared.
