Library Policies
The library board has established these policies to govern the library. These policies serve as a blue print for effective library operation, underscore the library's service philosophy and ensure that patrons receive consistent service. The policies are reviewed to help guarantee that they remain timely.
Collection Policies
Includes our Statement of Purpose, Selection Philosophy, Confidentiality Policy, Responsibility For Materials Selection, Selection Guidelines, Gifts Policy, Weeding Policy, and Requests for Reconsideration.
Circulation and Computer Policies
Includes: How to register for a library card, Interlibrary Loan Policy, Audiovisual Loan Policy, Equipment Policy, Internet Use Policy, Computer Policy, and Wireless Internet Access Policy.
Facilities, Equipment & Conduct
Includes information on handicap accessibility, fax policy, equipment use, Program Room and Study Room Policy, bulletin boards, displays and exhibits, and our Conduct Policy.
Volunteer Policy
Includes a policy statement with definition of volunteer, list of benefits of being a volunteer, types of volunteers & tasks to expect, and guidelines for volunteers.

Includes information about how the Kalona Public Library contracts for library service with other cities.
