Monet's Garden at Giverny
You are invited to come and see a video portrait of the great Impressionist's garden. Giverny is a garden that was planted to be painted. This beautiful and fascinating video will transport you into the garden where Monet spent the second half of his life.
This tour of the estate follows the full cycle of the garden - from first blossom of Spring, through the vibrant colours of Summer, to the rich oranges and russets of early Autumn - finally we see the garden being dismantled and put to bed for Winter.
Monet was a passionate horticulturist who invested a lot of time in the garden at Giverny; the programme explores the enduring legacy of beauty that he left in the garden and in his art, and the incredible interrelationship between the two.
See the video at the Kalona Public Library on January 3rd at 6:30 p.m. The video is 55 minutes long and a discussion will follow it.
